Naylor Taliaferro was stuck in Corporate America for over 15 years. He tried to raise a family and have a balanced quality of life. This became more challenging over time, as the industry demands increased and his family grew.
Naylor always had an entrepreneurial mindset and loved creating new things and solving problems. But never allowed himself to pursue these ideas and let his battle with anxiety take over, using the excuse "I don't have any time". Finally, after hitting rock bottom mentally and emotionally, after 15 years, he took the leap. He quit his retail career and started his own lawn care business!
Discovering the potential of community and building relationships through social media, became a new way of life through lawn care.

Good, Thx
That's really cool but how do you clean a property without some type of dump
at 2:28 I believe you meant 6 cubic "feet"
Instead of playing that music while cutting 4:47 I wanted to hear the noise the equipment makes or does not make. Biggest complaint is the 8am blower noise.
Unfortunately, there was no audio for that, which is why I continued with the music. I didn't realize until after. But here's another video where you can. ua-cam.com/video/hBLe9w50mbw/v-deo.htmlsi=NWzmdoppUhXfNTHq
Perfect business to transition to electric. Solar panels and a tesla powerwall would prob cut his electricity bill dramatically in the future but the upfront costs is going to be a factor. very excited to see his business on the forefront of new tech.
Wow, Their vans are so clean!
Interesting. I wonder if he's getting price advantages by charging at night? And doing a little energy arbitrage? For example, I assume his crews get home late afternoon. 5 O'Clock or so. Peak demand time and his vans and mowers probably have 20 to 25% charge remaining. He could maybe sell off the remaining at a high price, and then refill at night more cheaply. I also wonder whether he is charging his equipment between stops. And whether he is installing solar.
People are the best and worst part of business.
You are so right. Some customers have all day to waste your time.
Im 54 and im at the cross roads with bringing a 3 man crew together. the points you made were dead on thank you.
Hey man I wanted to let you know that echo is coming out with a new echo pb 9050 backpack blower this year and can you do a video on the new echo pb 9050 backpack blower at equip expo this year
Awesome video! Thank you! exactly what we’re dealing with now while growing our lawn care business, you’re right on! The right customers make all the difference! Some customers are not a good fit for excellent service providers. Often times, Sub par carts are a better option for this type of customer or One hit wonders. They are also many times cheaper as well. Get the service invoice paid up to date and then Send them a nice letter in the mail explaining Upon careful consideration for whatever reason their service has been discontinued. Thank you & take care!
Great video
why wouldn't a mower last years with maintenance? Are manufacturers building these like shit or with shit parts? If so why charge so much?
will a new holland my16 deck fit on a new holland gt22 mower ,,please answer if you know
Wow! Glad I came across this video! Nice pruning and it looks so natural😊
Front tires twist in the grass when turning, also with the air blows from underneath filter gets dirty quickly.
Where’d u get that bro?!
@@donaldwinters334 I order it from siteone landscape supply. But you can go to their website and see where in your area. catchycan.com/
I swear I just did this the other day. 4k feet fenced in yard. Took a min but looked nice
Like that Titan, Thx
I don't get it. Just dumb
What is?
@LawnCareRookie standing up. Just don't get it. Makes no sense. Just my opinion. You like it. Your business Goodluck.
Let’s really spell out the differences but first what’s the same? Same deck Same top motor plate Same basic belt and control design What’s different? 1) The wheel height adjustment, The Turfmaster is a heavier all metal design. The timemaster adjustment arm springs break easily if used a lot. 2) The pulley wheels for the blade timing belt. The turf master has beefier wheels and replaceable bearings. The toro stamped wheels are very susceptible to dirt and go bad easily 3) The blade belt brake arm. The turfmaster has a large pivot point with all metal bushings. The timemaster uses just the plate and some nylon bushings that wear out quickly. 4) Engine. The Turfmaster has the Kohler CV224 with 11ft pds of torque. The Timemaster has the B&S at 10ft pds of torque. The Kohler is pressure and splashed lubed engine while the B&S is splash only. 5) Transmission, The turfmaster has a larger pulley on it so it it is slower but torquier than the Timemaster. Overall their isn’t much different and most better commercial turfmaster parts can be used on the timemaster due to the same deck and engine plate design. The main items that can’t be replaced (at least cost effectively without a donor mower is the wheel height design. That and the various plastic pieces on the timemaster.
Hi sir I wanted to ask if you can give some advice on how to bid for commercial mowing I got a call from churches chicken asking for just lawn service.
that grass is short. mulch it
Great video been loving that toro mower you gave me makes me a lot of money with it
Thanks Logan! And I'm so glad you love the Toro Titan Max!

ive been hearing this from at least 3 or 4 different people in the last month about lawn care straw hats in summer. Here in west texas ive been running ball caps for over 10 years. BUT after hearing this and researching this for the last week, I decided to jump on amazon and buy two different wide brim hats, one is a straw hat. Also purchased some performance long sleeve shirts that are SPF50 and a cooling Neck Gaiter. Gonna try to incorporate these ideas this year as the temps start going over 100.
Safety first my man 🔥🔥
Nice clip. I’m sold on the Titan. Your opinion on whether to get the 48 or 54. Have 3 separate residential properties. Ones 2 acres and the other 2 is 3/4 acres. Also, will be using a 5ft wide trailer. Am I missing out by going with the 48? Thanks in advance
Thanks. You can never go wrong with the 48, especially if you have gates. But if everything is wide open and several acres... The bigger the better.
Does this titan model have a floor plate that lifts up for access to belts and deck?
Unfortunately I don't remember... This was a demo 4 years ago 🫤
Closing 90% is good dude
You're leaving money on the table
@@LawnCareRookie if you get every job your prices are probably too low
@@billydurbin7053 I know, that was my point. But I think 90% is still too high of a close rate and so does Eric. And he's been doing this for over 20 years...

Yup!

Lol 👍🏼👍🏼 And 🙏🏼
i been cutting half my life from 20 to 41 we do 30 lawns a day in spruce creek and i still do all the foot work and its catching up to me now and my boss doesn't care he's 67 so doesn't wanna help with the hard work
🫤
I showed up to a house one day and they were getting all new windows. Luckily I still mow two nearby but it was irritating nonetheless.
🤦♂️
I didn’t even know they had a camper 😂
I just bought one of these..it is a beast..does a great job .stock blades are crap but otherwise thus far im happy
Contrary to popular belief, they are the same trans, just with a bigger pulley so the gear ratio is lower but more torque.
so then it must be a decent bit slower too edit: ah yea he mentions that.
@M.TTT. It is, but I don't use the max speed on my Timemaster anyway. So ultimately for me personally, it is not a problem.
@johnrus7661 ah yeah, I sometimes mow fast, but idk if I ever hit max speed. I'd have to try out a turfmaster to see it's top speed. When I did mow this one hill, I just tried to go from the top down, back and forth. Not straight up and down.
online says timemaster is 4.5mph and Turf is 4.0, so doesn't seem a ton different.
@M.TTT. Not at all. Residential use, the Timemaster is more than adequate. The Turfmaster is a bit heavier and can handle more hills. And because of the lower ratio supposedly it stays cooler and doesn't pop seals. Loose oil and self destruct. That's why some drill a hold and put a screwed in plug in the trans, so you can top off the oil. Doing that the trans will last a lot longer.
Nice video subscribe to you now
Thanks!
i mean hope their okay but not sure id appreciate being put on video as a customer
They weren't put on video. Not even fire fighters faces. Not sure what the issue would be... I was very respectful and just sharing my concern as I vlog my business journey to help other businesses. The whole neighborhood came out and shared the same concern.
